Hello everyone,
I recently started to have interest in ebikes and would like to look into converting my existing mountain bike. Initially i was looking at purchasing a pre-made bike – Letric XP 2.0 long range.
Would a conversion kit would be better quality? i already have a good mountain bike which does not have many miles.
Is my existing bike compatible with a conversion kit? (2009 specialized P.2 All mountain)

That’s really pricey for a front hub. Check out em3ev.com you can get a mid drive bbshd kit for about the same price. Shipping will take an extra 40 days but that is the only downside
Edit: I forgot to factor in shipping costs so it’ll cost a like 200-300 more, sorry

Will be about $900-$1100 depending on options. It will go 30mph and have great torque.
A pre-made bike most likely will be better quality, but a diy kit will be more powerful.
So front hubs are not a great idea imo, torque steer is a bitch. Go with a mid drive or a rear hub
Quick update – Can anyone help me confirm if the Super Shark Battery will fit in my triangle frame? i am just noticing it is really small area. i cutout a copy of the Mini shark which seems to be the same dimensions – here is a picture. It isnt a perfect fit but gives a idea, i left the inch (roughly) so i think it will work?

that amazon kit is a scam. at that price point u can get a bbshd with 52v battery . a conversion kit should cost around 300 to 400 usd. ok but to answer your question: no, a conversion kit wont be better quality because the premade ebikes have better cable management than you can do on your own kit except if youre an expert(u might be able to drill holes in the frame to hide the cables) but i wont recommend it because i dont know if its even safe. also a china conversion kit can have quality issues like loose spokes or other stuff. if u want the best bang for your buck then go diy otherwise go lectric
